A noted international authority of quality classroom assessment, Dr. Anne Davies has supported educators, school faculties and school systems as they have worked toward improving assessment practices in support of learning. Anne now focuses on researching and writing about classroom assessment. She led the Canadian team that organized and hosted the 5th International Symposium on Assessment for Learning and the 1st Canadian Symposium on Assessment for Learning in Fredericton, New Brunswick in April 2014.
Anne is the author and co-author of more than 30 books and multimedia resources, including the best-seller, Making Classroom Assessment Work, now in its third edition. It is a companion book for Leading the Way to Assessment for Learning: A Practical Guide. She is co-author (with Sandra Herbst) of A Fresh Look at Grading and Reporting in High Schools (2014). The elementary companion book, Grading, Reporting and Professional Judgment: Taking Action in Elementary Classrooms, will be published this year.
