David Lowe

is a board- certified head teacher and literacy staff developer in the Seattle Public Schools, as well as an iOS developer. As an elementary classroom teacher he was deeply involved in piloting Reading and Writing Workshop in Seattle, and spent several years developing an effective paper note-taking system to track student progress. In 2010, David built an iOS app called Confer, enabling teachers to take and use student notes more effectively. In his continued work as a teacher, literacy trainer and iOS developer, he has paid close attention to the trends and innovations in using mobile technology to improve instruction in the classroom.
