Jodi Grove

A kindergarten teacher for six years, Jodi Grove now serves as a behavior specialist for Edison Elementary School in Walla Walla, Washington. A “calm room” is one of several strategies Jodi has implemented at the school that have made a profound difference for struggling students learning to self-regulate in a safe and loving environment. Jodi credits Heather Forbes’ book, Help for Billy, for giving her a completely new perspective on working with students who have experienced trauma. She also has been influenced by the work of her father, Jim Sporleder, former principal of a Walla Walla high school featured in the movie Paper Tigers.
