Steve Young has been the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Judson ISD in San Antonio, Texas since 2006. In that role, he oversees network operations, server hardware, desktop hardware, data services, application support, programming, help desk support, telecommunications, radio, and the Texas state data-reporting system known as PEIMS.
Steve founded the San Antonio Area Technology Directors group, which serves as an informal community of technology leaders for sharing project ideas, concerns, and solutions to common problems. In 2011-2012, Steve was selected as the Chair of the Texas K-12 CTO Council, the first state chapter of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), which serves as the premier professional association for school district technology leaders.Currently, Steve is working with CoSN on its privacy initiative. He also serves as an advisor to SchoolCIO and Technology & Learning magazine.
In 2013, under Steve’s leadership, Judson ISD was awarded a coveted Digital Education Achievement Award from the Center for Digital Education for its Judson ISD Connect mobile app. HP and Intel also featured Steve in their Profiles in Leadership series in 2013 and he was the recipient of the Texas K-12 CTO Council Grace Hopper CTO of the Year Award for the state in 2014.
Steve earned his Masters in Teaching and Bachelors in Economics from Trinity University, in San Antonio, Texas.
