Thomas Guskey
Thomas Guskey is professor of educational psychology in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY and is  a top expert on grading.
A widely-published author, Tom’s books include Answers to Essential Questions about Standards, Assessments, Grading and Reporting, co-authored with colleague Lee Ann Jung {Corwin, 2013) ;  Developing Standards-Based Report Cards (Corwin, 2010); Practical Solutions for Serious Problems in Standards-Based Grading (Corwin, 2009); The Principal as Assessment Leader (Solution Tree, 2009); and The Teacher as Assessment Leader (Solution Tree, 2009).Tom is a graduate of the University of Chicago’s renowned Measurement, Evaluation, and Statistical Analysis (MESA) Program and served as director of research and development for Chicago Public Schools.

He also served on the Policy Research Team of the National Commission on Teaching & America’s Future, on the Task Force to develop the National Standards for Staff Development, and was named a Fellow in the American Educational Research Association, one of the Association’s highest honors.
